About
Welcome to EdTechBytes, a website about technology in classrooms.
I’m currently a School Based Technology Specialist and Special Education Department Chair in Fairfax, Virginia. I’m also in the Ph.D. in Education program at George Mason focusing on teacher education, technology integration, and education policy. I began teaching as a special education teacher in 1997 and earned my National Board Certification in Exceptional Needs in 2001. I’ve taught various technology classes for the county and have taught special education, technology integration, and National Board certification graduate courses for George Mason University. Prior to moving into technology, I worked in staff development where I managed the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) Program and assisted with the new teacher mentoring programs.
For the 2010 school year, additional projects include working with the National Board to promote minority teacher recruitment and serving in the Teacher Ambassador Fellowship program with the US Department of Education to provide outreach for education policy.
